1. Make your photos look more artistic by adding a filter! The icon on the top right of the camera screen is three overlapping circles, and this is where you will find the filters you can apply. Now let’s say you take a photo with a filter on, but you decide later you don’t want it on there…there’s a way to fix that! Go into your camera roll and select that image, click the edit icon on the bottom of the screen and select Revert and then Revert to Original, and voila!
2. If you have an iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, 7, or 7 Plus, you have an added camera feature! When looking at the camera app on your home page, press down hard on it for a second and a menu bar pops up with the options: Take Selfie, Record Video, Record Slo-mo, and Take Photo.
3. So you’re in the city and want to take an epic picture of the tall buildings and all the moving cars and people…use the Time-Lapse feature to do it! In the camera app, swipe right until you see TIME-LAPSE at the bottom. Tap the red button and hold your phone still on the shot you want to capture. After a few seconds, tap the red button again to finish. What it does is captures an image every few seconds and then pieces them together in a time lapse video for you, so your buildings will remain still, but the people and cars will move.
4. Make your photos look more professional by touching them up after they are taken. Go into your Camera Roll, click on an image, and tap the icon at the bottom of the screen that has three lines with circles on them. This is where you can remove red eye, crop your image, add a filter, adjust the color of your image, and even rotate your image.
5. If you have any photos that you would like to keep private, you can hide them. Select an image in your camera roll and tap the square icon with the arrow on the bottom left of the screen. You will see an icon that says Hide, and when you click that, it gives you the option to hide your image. If you want to unhide it, go into Albums and you’ll see the album titled Hidden. Click on the image inside that album and do the same thing, except this time it will give you the option to unhide the image. That image will then reappear in the original place it was located.
BONUS
If you have an iPhone 7 Plus, you have what’s called the Portrait mode. This is by far the coolest feature! This feature gives your photos depth perception. Tap on your focal point within 8 feet from you, and watch your subject become the only thing in focus. Everything else blurs out so it gives an amazing 3D effect. Your phone will help you out with this by telling you if you need to move closer or farther away. This one is so fun to play around with!
